What personal data we collect and why we collect it
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Our contact form does not:
- track users by stealth;
- write any user personal data to the database;
- send any data to external servers;
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Third Party Product Providers
This site offers print on demand products through third party companies we have an account with. We receive royalties from items purchased there from our account. The only information we receive on these orders is a remittance notice including the product, the design, and royalty amount. This is followed up with a notice that the item has been printed and shipped. Names, emails addresses, or other sensitive information is held solely by that site and The Attic Shoppe Trading Co. has no access to it.
Processors / Service Providers
We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
Through 2016 to June of 2018 this site made use of the WooCommerse plugin for our shopping cart. Our shopping cart is temporarily suspended as we use Paypal.com directly for our sales. Here are a few details about the information previously collected by WooCommerse and how this site used it:
- Cookies to keep track of cart contents while browsing our site
- Shipping address to estimate shipping, taxes, and desired delivery location
- Email address to send you information about your account and order
- Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Set up your account for our store
- Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
- Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them
Information on our WooCommerse account is handled as such:
- Inactive accounts are automatically deleted after 12 months
- Pending, failed, or canceled orders were held for 3 days before automatically deleting
- Completed order information is retained for 12 months
If you created a login account for our shopping cart function you can log back in and delete it and all of your information at any time. We keep information from our shopping cart solely as a record of your transaction on this site. We do not add your email address to our mailing list or provide it to outside agencies.
This site uses the HubSpot plugin to power our coupon/mailing list pop-up. Opting into our coupon/mailing list is voluntary and users have the option to opt out at any time. We do not share or sell out mailing list.
