The Isidore Tarot Deck is an art collage style tarot that uses whimsical vintage illustrations by J.J. Grandville to recreate the symbolism of the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck. Grandville\u2019s characters are turned into new characters with the aid of Victorian era ink illustrations and our shoppe artist\u2019s own pen-work to complete the collages. Each card is given a light color tinting to finish the piece. The idea for the style is based upon Max Ernst\u2019s Une semaine de bont\u00e9<\/i> collection. <\/p>\n

This is the third (and current) edition of the deck that premiered in the 2018 new year. The new edition features borderless artwork on the cards and we’ve added a little extra tinting to make the artwork a pinch more vibrant. A Happy Squirrel<\/i> card has been added to the deck because… Happy Squirrel<\/i>!! We’ve also created new packaging and color themes for this edition. Some of the current changes have come from requests to remove the blank borders from previous editions, and we’re happy to oblige. Though please note: Occasionally we will run a sale for the second edition version. We’ve gotten a lot of requests to not completely put that version to bed.<\/p>\n
